Representatives of Fremont’s MechanicNet Group, Inc., say they closed a deal with their counterparts at Automotive Technical Resources (ATRi) to make ATRi’s “Table of Known Good Values” service information product available “by the hour” on a pay per look basis online at http://tr.mechanicnet.com. “This is a revolutionary new tool for a technicians toolbox,” declares Steve Liao, MechanicNet’s president. “We are quite proud to be working with the innovative team at ATRi to bring this exciting technology to market in a format that is affordable to any size shop.”
Based in Troy, Michigan, ATRI’s staff is said to use “patent-pending technologies to collect ‘Known Good Values’ of post production vehicles” to create “the only collection of reliable circuitry data” available in the industry. A July 25, 2001 MechanicNet press release asserts that by using the ATRi service information “and the supporting processes, technicians have reported savings o 80% over the time required to go through a manufacturer’s published diagnostic procedure” while realizing the advantages of more effective troubleshooting.
Bill Wruble, ATRi’s President and COO, notes that his firm’s unique product is an “exciting and accurate way of diagnosing cars and light duty trucks that parallels the advanced technology being used to manufacture today’s cars. MechanicNet has deployed an Internet infrastructure in the aftermarket that enables the distribution of ATRi’s cutting edge technologies to aftermarket repair facilities. Our partnership is designed to make the most innovative tools available to technicians at a price point they can afford.
