FREMONT, CA - In mid-June, MechanicNet, a web-based exchange for mechanics and car owners to transact for services and repairs, will make its formal debut. With MechanicNet, car owners can better understand problems they are experiencing with their car, be referred to a shop in their area, and keep up with scheduled maintenance.

MechanicNet will rely on a mix of strategic alliance and content partners to be provide a web-based e-commerce infrastructure and information exchange for the automotive aftermarket.  MechanicNet is building a network of vehicle owners, technicians, suppliers and intermediaries who are active participants in the lifecycle management of an automobile.

For car owners, MechanicNet's goal is to decrease the anxiety associated with car repair and maintenance. Using the site, car owners can find a service provider, proactively evaluate their car problems, estimate the cost of repairs and maintain a record of maintenance for the life of their automobile.
